Building the project is the Chicago Community Builders Collective, avocasino1.ca a minority-led construction partnership and joint venture. The JV is made of Chicago-based AEC firms that include: Proclamation for Problem Gambling Awareness Month © 2024 Rivers Casino. The hotel tower—relocated from the northern end to the southern end of the casino—will now be situated near Ohio Street along the Chicago River. The hotel will feature a pool spa, gym, and sun deck in addition to a rooftop restaurant with views of the Chicago skyline. HKS’s design for the casino offers 3,400 slots, 170 table games, and VIP gaming areas, with a connection to the riverbank and an extension of the riverwalk. Demolition of the former Chicago Tribune plant is nearly complete, Urbanize Chicago reported, and the project is targeting a late 2026 opening.
